Regent Street, W1B 5AH
A charming Edwardian bookshop with long oak galleries reminiscent of an old college library, graceful skylights and William Morris prints; the original shop is on the High Street in Marylebone, with another 5 locations dotted throughout the capital.
With a great selection of classic and contemporary literature at the front of the shop, Daunts is ultimately a bookshop for travellers and arranges the rest of its sections geographically, with travel writing, phrase books, history and fiction grouped by their relevant country.
Each branch organises regular author talks and discussions, having recently played host to Alain de Botton, Michael Palin and Claudia Roden, among others.
